Mt. Lebanon Man Accused Of Spiking Woman's Drink At Bar
Bridgeville Police File Criminal Complaint Against Dean Barbaro
BRIDGEVILLE, Pa. -- A Mt. Lebanon man is accused of spiking his date's wine with a drug at a bar, Bridgeville police said.
Dean J. Barbaro, 50, is charged with reckless endangerment and drug possession, according to a criminal complaint filed this week.
Channel 4 Action News' Marcie Cipriani obtained a copy of the police affidavit, which says that Barbaro and a woman went to Castaways on Washington Avenue after going out to dinner on Oct. 15.
The woman went to the bathroom, then returned to Barbaro and saw the bartender pouring her drink away and taking a pill out of her glass, according to the complaint.
The woman said Barbaro asked her how the pill got into her drink, and the bartender responded by saying that he had seen Barbaro do it, according to the affidavit.
Police identified the pill as Clonazepam, which can cause drowsiness, dizziness and difficulty with memory.
Barbaro is free on bond as he awaits a preliminary hearing before District Judge Maureen McGraw-Desmet on Nov. 1.
