Buckhead Saloon is something that Pittsburgh has needed for a long time. A dance club for the over 21's and the over 30's. They club itself is just enough dance floor, with just enough seating, and 2 massive bars located on either end of the the bar, with everything else located in the middle. The decor of the place is centered around a ski lodge theme, but they don't overdo it to the point where it looks cheesy.

While they do have a pool table and a few arcade games to keep you busy, the entertainment comes from the stage where they feature live rock music every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. Whenever a band isn't playing, they have a DJ playing what could best be described as the Bob format that is still taking the country by storm.

The service at Buckhead Saloon was excellent. Even during their grand opening with a fully packed bar I never had to wait for a drink. During their first night the bartenders knew their jobs well, and that is something I've rarely ever seen.

Overall I think the place is off to an excellent start. It's an excellent place for after-work drinks, dancing for people of all ages, and even the food smelled pretty good.

Buckhead Saloon is an excellent addition to Pittsburgh nightlife!

Last Saturday my friend hosted her sisters birthday celebration there. Once we arrived the Host of our party asked the girl working the desk at the door if she could add people who decided to come at the last minute and she told her no and that they would now have to pay the $5 at the door. Which didnt seem difficult to add a few names, ( we were just trying to bring them more business). As told initially by the workers at the door, our wristbands for our party included $3 drinks and some special on Kamakazie shots? (which who drinks those anyways?) As I approached the bar it took forever to get waited on. Even though there were numerous people working behind the bar. Once I was waited on I ordered two shots and two drinks ( 3 out of the 4 drinks were NOT included with my wristband which I wasn't suprised). The shots I ordered were whipped vodka and lime juice, Which was practically just lime juice. My drink wasn't much better. Overall, I think the atmosphere is nice but wasn't please with the 'specials' (if you call them that) we received coming down with a large group for a Birthday. My recommendation is if you go there, order beer so you at least know your getting alcohol in your drinks.

This is by far my favorite spot in pittsburgh. they offer a great happy hour for birthdays and you can take a large group of people without feeling like you cant manivier through the bar. They have live bands and a dj which is a great mix of music. Anytime I am in station square I always stop here. It's always a great time!

Expensive mixed drinks. Great draft beer specials during games. Not the best food. Fast and friendly service.

Horrible. My girlfriend and I went last Tuesday for the Girls Gone Wild/College night. First of all she was one of 4 or 5 women in the building at midnight. Nothing but guys as far as the eye could see. We stood at the bar for 10 minutes with no line before a bartender cared enough to wait on us. I tipped well in hopes that that wouldn't happen the next time I came to the bar but it didn't help my cause at all. For the next round we stood in the same spot and waited even longer even though it was the same bartender. To top everything off they apparently had a pillow fight earlier which is kind of cool except that feathers were everywhere and I ended up getting a ton of them in my drink. The music was good and the place seemed like it had potential to be a good time but there were just so many things wrong that it wasn't worth it all.

I will never spend another dollar in Buckhead Saloon. The service is absolutely terrible. I work in the nightlife industry and I know how a memorable night out should be spent. After 40 minutes of trying to get a drink, both tall double vodka sprites were weak...Isn't the point of a double getting a semi strong drink? The DJ was the best part of the night, spinning good tunes, and trying to keep the (for the most part) sober crowd amp'd up. I'm not one to complain about a place, but Buckhead took the cake on this one. I left early and went to another bar, because I refused to deal with the hassle. For a good night, stay out of station square.

Not a bad place to hang if you are down in station square. Specials usually are good enough, especially considering you are in the overpriced district. Service can take a while if its crowded, but its usually not too bad.

Probably the nicest thing about this one is its big enough that even when its crowded its generally not asses to elbows.

Nice bar and fun to go to. Atmosphere is great BUT it's VERY hard to get a drink. Lines can be long if you dont want a beer.
Bands are nice but it's do loud when a band is going on.
The siron was cool at first but instead it gets on my nerves..

Waitress are babes...

I had a lot of fun here on St. Patricks day and there were a lot of good looking women. Since then I've been there a few times and it hasn't been that great. The bottles of beer were warm a couple times. They must put the warm ones in the front of the cooler instead of in the back. The beer selection isn't that great either. They mainly just have the popular beers like bud, miller, etc. I probably won't come back here for a long time. Maybe next year on St. Patricks day again.

I've been to Buckhead a few times in the past. I like it because it has a little bit of something for almost anybody who wants to go there. They have a fairly large bar to sit around and talk if you'd like, They have a dance floor for people who enjoy doing that, and they also have live music which I personally enjoy. If you're a person who likes to play pool, they have a pool table in the back of the establishment near another bar (which isn't always open unfortunately). I am happy they have a pool table there. I am unhappy that it is $1.25 to play. Even $1 wouldn't be so bad, but $1.25 seems a little superfluous. They also have tables in either side of the bar in the event that the bar gets full, (which it usually does) so there are ample seats available. The drink prices really aren't too shabby $3 domestics, $4 import/mixed. The bartenders are usually pretty quick to serve you. One time last night it was slow but sometimes you have to expect that. Overall I enjoy Buckhead very much. I've been there a few times and will go back. Oh, and the percentage of good lookin ladies in this place is higher than most places I have been to in the burgh.

I've been here quite a few times. The drinks were cold but the staff in my opinion was slow. It is usually crowded on weekends, so guys take it from me,always keep your beer on your leg or at your side so the staff thinks you don't have one. It always works in a crowded joint like buckheads.
And honestly, some of the most beautiful women I've ever seen in this town I have seen here.
I will come back.

I do enjoy Buckhead. They have a different style to night life, with live bands (which are pretty good) every weekend.
Drinks are at normal price and the staff is good. TONS of hott men all around the place!
If you are looking for men when you go out Buckhead is the place to be!
The only bad thing is the size of the place.
It does get to crowded on weekends and it's always hot in there. But other then that it's a cool place.

Don't Go to Buckhead. On the day of the Bon Jovi Steeler Kick off concert - they ran out of food. We got our order- much cut down - after they served others that arrived following us. We were two women and all the men got served first. Part of their generally discrimnatory, racist and un-American policy of not serving people based on dress -- you can't wear a baseball cap backwards (even if you are a catcher, I suppose!) They turned other people away and were generally nasty.

The manager and waitresses stated that they didn't know that they would be this busy. I find this to be incredible since there were posters all around Station Square advertising the concert. Since this is an out-of-town establishment maybe they weren't aware that we support the Steelers and that they stood to make a killing.

Un American - Anti- Steeler? Don't go there. Protest!!!!!

More overall experience was ok. My typical girlie mixed drink was $5.00 but that is what I expected, I also paid $5.00 in cover. This was two Fridays ago so there was a band but also a DJ during the band imtermission, that was cool. I got to dance with my friends but then sing along with the crowd. The decor was definitly something I would not like, all the dead animials on the wall were kinda creepy. I didn't dig the crowd so much either. Would come back for a happy hour or something.

Buckhead is great! $2 for anything from 5 til 11PM on Fridays. The interior is really nice. The service is friendly and attractive. They are always giving away free passes, etc. There is a great crowd (not too many punks or frat boys, but, not too old, either). The bands are usually pretty decent, too.

I stopped here after work on 4/17/06. First, the negative, they're website states that on Monday nights they have a 25 cent wing special, wrong. I asked the bartender and he said there was no such special. Everything else was a positive. Like previous reviewers have stated, i can't believe this was Chauncey's. It really looks like a ski lodge or something. The first drink i had was pretty weak(automatic pour) but the next couple were very good in a bigger glass. Didn't try the food but it looked good.

I went to Buckhead Saloon to check out this new place.
I had heard it was a bit 'country' themed so I grabbed the most country themed person I know and we headed on over.
Well we never made it in the door.
Aparently they don't want people wearing motorcycle boots to spend their money there.
OK, I'm all for a bar having a dress code and I was quite happy to see that they forbid the usual gang related displays.
When we got to the front of the short line the doorman first said we had to wait for a minute, then said we couldn't enter because I was wearing boots.
These weren't shit covered cowboy boots or anything like that, just boring old black motorcycle boots.
Not sure I understand why the boots are a problem, I saw people in tennis shoes and they didn't look like there was any tennis happening inside.
His helpful suggestion was to 'go out to my car and change shoes' because as everyone knows, men keep a supply of shoes in their cars for every occasion.
I had hoped that the bar might be a nice place to go this summer but I have no plans to start riding my bike in tennis shoes just to make the doorman at some club happy.

I gave the bar a '5' because I couldn't get inside to give it a meaningful review.

Excited to check it out, I went to Buckhead Saloon as a pre-game place for my Saturday night activities. I knew the place was brand new, but I was pretty disappointed with the training the staff had received. My table came across about give different workers, and not one of them had a clue what they were doing. The crowd was mostly people in their 30's--which isn't my age range. The atmosphere was nice, and reminded me of Saddle Ridge a bit. Overall, I don't plan on going back. Not a bad place, but just not for me.

Buckhead Saloon is going to be the hottest new bar in Pittsburgh. It is in a prime location in Station Square, by the parking garage across from the Sheraton. The pre-grand opening is set for tomorrow, March 23, and the grand opening is March 24. Check out the website to get tickets to the opening. Trust me, you are not going to want to miss it!
