Dukes, located near the High Level Bridge in Homestead, is the kind of bar I used to drive past and then not pay it much attention. I'm sure many other visitors to the popular Waterfront in Homestead have the exact same thing. What a shame...

Dukes is actually a really nice place!

There are a few rough edges, sure, like the mens room being a few steps down into the basement, and in need of an update, but overall I'd have to say that Duke's is one of few excellent bars in the area. Clean, nicely maintained and filled with friendly customers waited on by competent bartenders.

The beer selection is pretty nice too - draft and bottles. They have a food menu as well that looks respectable and, also, affordable.

This is a great neighborhood bar, restaurant and place to kill some time.

I know it won't be long before I'm back!

Dukes is a really cool place if you are looking for a place to have a beer and just hang out. They have a huge variety of beer on both draft and bottles. The prices of the beers are very affordable. And they even have beer specials during happy hour. They have an indoor bar you can sit at or and outdoor patio. They have a jukebox and corn hole set for people's entertainment. And also if you get hungry Dukes does serve food which all tastes so good. I recommended the wings they are my favorite. The only downfall is the parking situation. When they get really busy their parking lot gets full and then others have to try and find a parking spot on the street.

Very friendly staff and good service. I've eaten there several times and no matter what I ordered, it was great. Large selection of beers and the mixed drinks we good. Next time you take a trip to the Waterfront, forget the chain restaurants and give this place a try. It's only about a block from the enterance to the Waterfront. Try the "Big Duke Platter" and definitely get the sweet potato fries!
