Formerly "Dragon Ice Company", Joyce's still has a lot of the same look and feel of it's predecessor but features live bands, better crowds, and much better food. Some of the noticeable differences between the two establishments is that they have cleaned the place up a lot and added a stage back behind the bar for their live acts. The drink prices are about the same, as well as the large ice bins that they use to keep the beer cold. I visited Joyce's about one week after their grand opening, and I can't wait to go back and give them a more complete review. Until then, I still recommend that you stop in and give them a try.

Tads is a really affordable and friendly place to hang out with your friends. They have a happy hour from 10-12 where they have dollar beers and two dollar bombs. They also have a dart board and a pool table to play with friends. There is a juke box as well for entertainment. I enjoyed my time at tads

If you can deal with people smoking inside the bar, this is the perfect bar to start your night in East Carson Street. They have daily beer specials and 2 you-call-it bombs from 10-12am every night. Very crowded on the weekends from 10-12 and gets a decent crowd for Monday night karaoke and Pens games. Awesome bartenders as well!

I love Tad's. The prices are good. The atmosphere is nice. There's a lot of bro's in there at times. The asian bartender is really nice. Their wings are great! Try the DPH shot!

Definitley not a very nice bar and the people that go are a little shady, but I think they have the best drink specials in south side. I think that every night of the week they have $2 bombs and a different $1 or $2 beer every night. It's a good place to start the night off if you're looking to get some good pregaming in.

Well I've hit a lot of bars up and down Carson over the years, and finally Barry's turn came up. I was there on a Saturday night, and my general impressions were the following.

Crowd tended to be younger, at least when I was there, place was fairly crowded, but not as bad as some of the worst offenders in this department. The front of the bar is, well, a large rectangular bar taking up most of the room, with the back of the building more open.

The bar basically was nothing spectacular, but the $1 bottle specials every night of the week, certainly makes this a decent choice to drink cheap. The ratio of sausage to bajingos significantly favored the sausage side of the isle far more than the bajingos side.... So I guess depending on which gender or orientation you are this could be a good or a bad thing, for me, I viewed it as a generally bad thing.

The service was decent, even though the place was crowded, getting into the bar and getting waited on was not bad at all compared to some places along Carson on a Saturday night.

All in all, there are definitely worse places than Barry's along Carson.

This is a really nice bar. Usually has good drink specials and the free popcorn always seems to hit the spot. Plenty of room in the back or if you get there early and you can actually get a seat at the bar. Problem is when it gets crowded it becomes rather hard to move because the bar is in the middle of the room and the patrons are forced to stand along the walls making it hard to get from the front to the back of the place. Besides the limited space though this is a great place to go to watch the game with several TV's mounted along the wall on each side.

barry's is one of my favorite places to go down the south side when i just want to chill and drink for cheap. they always have good drink specials and the staff there always seems to be on top of things. I usually do not have to wait long for drinks and although it can get crowded for sporting events, it is still alot less jam packed than some of the other carson st. bars. i usually do not have to wait in a long line for a restroom (which is pleasantly suprising for a woman in a bar) and can almost always find a table/seating at the bar.

Barry's Pub is an ordinary neighborhood bar that has nothing really special about it. The menu was sticky and beers on tap were nothing to brag home about. The thing that struck me most is that the overall atmosphere is not welcoming for anybody over the age of 30. Live music would help but for some odd reason they refuse to bring in bands. When I asked the bartender why he said "because we're too small". I raise my eyebrows to that one because there was a large area in the back that could fit a band nicely. The not so friendly attitude of the bartenders definitely added my not so great time at Barry's. It made me want to finish my drink and get out of there as fast as I could. Barry's ya got a try a little harder to elevate your atmosphere! Live bands, better beer and wine selections and bartenders who can carry on a conversation with someone over the age of 21 would help. I may go back one day to see if they made any changes but my guess is they probably won't.

This place is where you can go to have a lot of fun without breaking the bank. Tuesday night the special was $1 Corona's and there is a popcorn machine. We got there at 9pm and there were only about 10 people there but the Corona special started at 10 and that is when another 50 people showed up.
There were 4 tv's with sports on and a pool table and dart board in the back.
And its open on Christmas Day.

I'm there thursday nights on and off...$1 yuenling bottles till they run out, then $1 yuenling drafts. but what brings me down thursdays is the music. they have a few dj's come in and spin starting around 930-10 and go all night. some good underground techno if you're into that, and you cant beat dollar yuenlings.

This is a place you go during the week if you decide your not going to work/class and you want to get your booze on. $1 molson all day is nice. The food is OK. I really just dont like the atmosphere in this place. It just doesnt really have anything unique or special about it. Kind of just bland. Its OK.
