I have given this bar several tries (3), and have sadly been disappointed in the service each time.
That's a big shame for a restaurant with such great potential.
The place actually looks fantastic - the windows in front open up to the street (which is really cool, especially in summer).
The best place to sit IMO is up on the roof, there's a bar and some tables overlooking Carson Street.
Fun atmosphere for talking and drinking.
There's TVs located around the downstairs area, and plenty of tables and seats.
Unfortunately, that's where my praise stops.
The service (at least in my experience) is extremely slow, and the one time we had a good waitress the kitchen kept us waiting for our food (a table of 5 on a Thursday night) for TWO AND A HALF HOURS.
The waitress kept apologizing and gave us a free round, and eventually the manager came up and personally apologized and gave us our entire check for free.
(We still tipped the waitress 20% on the bill because it was no fault of her own the kitchen sucked).
Even when we got the food, a few plates were cold and not very good.
I will say that the pizza was excellent.
The other 2 times I went to Local (once before and once after the 2.5 hour incident) I had a slow waitresses and bad mixed drinks.
I feel like this place HAS the potential to be great, I just haven't personally experienced it.
Who knows, others may have a different experience than I...but I really can't recommend this place to anyone.
