I have read reviews on this establishment and agree and disagree and have some comments of my own. First with the smoking issue, I could not agree more. I am a heavy smoker and only go to smoking bars and this place is horrible. They have fans and apparantly have some type of exhaust system but it does not work for the amount of people in their smoking even on slow nights. I never mind smoke but it is unbearable. The bartenders even open up the front and back door to try and get the smoke out and that does not work.
As for people saying it is a warehouse or empty I can agree to an extent. The "new addition" was a giant waste. It is like it is a different bar completely and a whole wall is dedicated to "gaming" machines! The pool tables are crammed in a little area with no where to set drinks or have people sit by if you are with your spouse or a group of people that enjoy playing pool. All of the games are crammed in a small area and they should be spread throughout the bar instead of forcing groups of people into a separate room. I do not think the place looks empty by any means, almost every wall has some type of sport picture on it and they always decorate for any event. There is a younger girl who will spend days decorating for themed parties and wait until you see the Halloween decorations she puts up!
My friends and I used to go to this establishment all of the time because we thoroughly enjoy the entertainment (open mic night however could be left off the list or maybe once to twice a month max) and all of the bartenders are extremely pleasant and you can tell they all get along and enjoy working there. However gthis bar just recently raised their prices (within the last month or so) and we now choose to go to other bars within the area that are also smoking and have cheaper prices. The bartenders now also have to use a shot measurer when their bottles have automatic stoppers on them which makes no sense. I know a bar up the road that uses them because they don't have automatic stoppers so its understandable, but we feel as though now we are getting even less alcohol and paying more for it. I know for me and my group of friends this was a huge turnoff because we enjoy going out frequently through the week and that puts a hurting on your bank account. I have talked with others as well as I grew up in this town and the price raise plus use of measurers deflected a lot of their regular buainess.
Another big turnoff is that when you frequent a business you are expected to have some type of compensation every once in a while or a special to entice you to keep coming back but this place seems to only care about making a dollar and giving nothing back to their customers. We actually were told we could not plug our phone into the wall to charge it.
All in all the bar has great potential and it is a fun place to go to but they need to keep up with current specials/events/activities and cater to their customers a little more. I am not saying give away drinks or anything by that means, but people go where the drinks are cheap and the atmosphere is fun. I know people may agree or disagree with my comments but this is just what I have noticed for the last year or so.
