Jekyl & Hyde is one of those places that every Pittsburgher should recommend to tourists looking for something that is uniquely Pittsburgh. Not only is this bar Halloween themed all 365 of the year, it has consistently weathered to storms of Pittsburgh nightlife for well over a decade now. I can't even being to count the number of theme bars that have closed since my first visit to Jekyl & Hyde. We have had jungle bars, martini bars, outdoor bars with palm trees and even McNasty bars and none of them have ever captured with Jekyl's has... a genuine sense of fun. They don't take themselves too seriously, all while keeping the customers happy. The service here is amazing. It's a smaller bar so that makes it easier to work I suppose, but some nights the place can fill to capacity and yet the bartender keeps up with it. In addition to being server quickly, I've never been served a bad drink here. Everything is well mixed, not too strong, not too weak and while every bar can have a bad day, I've never had a skunked bottle here either. This is a great place for the 21-30 crowd - and older. This may not be the best place to propose to your girlfriend, but if you did, and she said yes, you know you have a keeper!
