Just about every review we do of a bar in Station Square has a gripe about the parking, but it's hard not to. Parking annoyances aside, Bar Louie is a great place. The first thing anyone notices about this place is how huge it is inside. You could fit two or three of your local bars (parking lot included) inside of Bar Louie and still have room left over. The look and feel of the bar gives off a nice warm welcoming feel, and the windows facing the river help the room feel even larger then it naturally is. They have a phenomenal draft selection, and Louie is known for their cocktails and mixed drinks. You would be hard fought to not find a drink you like. The drink prices may seem a little high, but they're actually on the low end for Station Square. This is a great place to take a date - as a matter of fact, I'll probably be taking my next date here. Assuming I can get out the retirement home and Bar Louie is still open for business when that miracle occurs.

I visited Bar Louie for happy hour on a Tuesday, and granted, it's a Tuesday, but there was definitely a ghost town feel to the place, given how large it is, and only perhaps 6 patrons. At the same time on a Tuesday, I'd expect 30 or more at Smokin' Joes for instance. The Tuesday $1 burger special sounded good, but the burger was disappointing, flavorless and dry, and took surprisingly long to arrive given how empty the place was. The bar staff were nice enough, but seemed (understandably) bored. The place is clean and well-kept but has an industrial chain kind of feeling to it, not the sort of bar charm you'll find in so many other Pittsburgh establishments; no warmth.

Went to Halloween party dressed in costume on Friday. Staff was nice and kept drinks filled. I would return as long as the same DJ is not covering event. Only about 8 costumes entered into contest and the DJ never even introduced me and my girlfriends. I think he knew the fellows who won. When I asked for the DJ's company name he gave me a false name.

I went over to Station Square recently. I haven't been in a while so I thought I'd give it a go. I went it Bar Louie & it looked the same as always, maybe a little less clean but it's always been alittle dingy. The bartender was pleasant and informative. The beer was cold. The biggest disapointment was the food. I ordered a burger and it took forever & was cold. The french fries were terrible. I told the bartender and she told me they have been getting complaints lately on the food & the manager was working on it. She was nice enough to comp. my meal. Great views, good beer, lousy food.

The place was too crowded. They charged me money for diet cokes all night, and I have been sober for many years now. Food was cold and service ok. The bartender was nice, but the manager took too long to take care of my tab which was incorrect. I would not go back because of expensive parking, prices, bad food, and and the amount of people there. The dj was amazing though. Don't go there.

THe patio at Bar Louie at station square is probably one of the nicest places to go and relax within walking distance of downtown you can find. A nice night with a few friends on the deck, watching the city and river is great.. of course you will get the occassional freight train going buy to break up the serene picture.

Prices are, well, Station Square pricing, but the special of the day is usually reasonable.

Stopped in at Bar Louie on Good Friday for Happy Hour. Guys I was with went to the bar to get some drinks, but the bartender informed them that if we were sitting at a table, we would have to order from the waitstaff. Well, we waited around for about 10 minutes, and even though the place was dead, no one came over to get our order. I went to the bathroom, came back, still no waitress. She finally showed up just as we were leaving.

I'm giving it a 5 simply because I wasn't given the opportunity to judge the place. We ended up going over to Red Star and had a better experience, even though they appear to be under the same ownership.

I love this bar! It was a great atmosphere. It is large and you are able to move around. The prices are high but the service and atmosphere make up for this. I have always enjoyed my time on this bar.

Bar Louie is a fun and lively place. It was very busy when I went so it took a while before I got my drink and food, but the waitress was very nice and did her best. I got a cheese quesadilla with fresh pico de gallo which I practically swallowed whole (delicious). I would definitely go back for another quesadilla.

This is a good bar. Happy hour prices are good and they have a great selection of beer on tap. The last time I was there the DJ kept playing top 40 songs from the early 90s which was lame, but overall the place is pretty good.

I love this place! No negative reviews at all! Clean estabelishment, clean bathrooms, plenty of stools around the bar. In the summer time you can sit outside and watch the boats go by. Awesome food, great crowd. You get celebrities there once in a while. Good price on the drinks.

Take your date there and impress the hell out of her.

Nice plush huge circular booth seating is nice. The food was forgetable. The beer selection was average, especially for a chain. The wait staff was slow and lacking. I sat around both times here for 15 minutes or more trying to get another beverage while eating. The food is a tad more than other similar places. Consider the parking garage hassle and the lack of other places worth going to in Station Square and that explains why I don't go to Station Square very much.

I do agree with the other reviewers that “Bar Louie” is a great place for happy hour. I’ve spent many – many Friday happy hours there. But the only thing I do not care for is the high priced cocktail and even the beer is pricey. The bar doesn’t ever offer specials; I suppose that they don’t need to. Red Star Tavern is a similar type bar, which is on the other side of Bar Louie – actually in the same building. You can go back and forth if you like. The only down side is that both bars share the same bathrooms. I’ve waited 15 minutes before just to use the ladies room. The food is outstanding! I think they have one of the best menus around. I strongly suggest to arrive as early as possible, bar stools and tables are hard to come by and its not a very roomy place to just “stand around”… you are often in the way. One of the main things I do enjoy about Bar Louie – other than its one of the hippest bars around – is that you aren’t stuck if you want to leave. You have plenty of options of places to go. .. like Bongos (old Chauncys), Phily McNasty’s, the Matrix..etc.

For anyone over 25 years of age who wants to go and just hang out and meet cool people their age, this is the place for you. The food is good, the atmosphere is even better. Sure, the prices are a bit steep but the drinks are strong and the ladies are very nice to look at. The waitstaff are personable and quick and their attitude is great. I recommend this bar for happy hour on Fridays as the clientele is very easy on the eyes.

I've been going to "happy hour" at Bar Louie for the past few weeks as a good alternative to Froggy's. I say "happy hour" because there's no real happy hour special at all (just like Froggy's) and it just seems to be the place everyone's going (just like Froggy's!). I found the draft prices to be right in line with other Station Square establishments, though the cocktail prices seemed a bit high. They have a nice menu of mostly appetizers, though they do have a few entrees as well. The waitstaff is excellent, never waiting too long between visits and always friendly. The place can get a little crowded, though, so if you can get there early and get a table you'll be much better off.
